We, in Kibworth and other villages, can help save us from the climate crisis.

Hello residents, I am writing this for two reasons that you MAY NOT be aware of.

The Kibworth Club, formerly known as the Kibworth Working Men’s Club & Institute Ltd., opened its doors to members on 28 July 1921. This year sees the current members celebrating a century of local institution.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now.

Buildings archaeologist James Wright of Triskele Heritage has recently completed an historic graffiti survey of Kibworth Harcourt Windmill. The work took place as part of a conservation project by the landowners – the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. The mill is of special significance as it is the only post mill in Leicestershire.

Local Youth Projects are very excited to announce a new youth club for the younger people of Fleckney. 11 to 16 year olds can come along to the Baptist Church Hall on Main Street, Fleckney. The club will run on Wednesday evenings, during term time, from 7pm to 8.15pm.

Schools are back, summer is drawing to a close and there’s been a lot of change at The Well over the last few months.

A flash flood in Kibworth and as I write, we’re having a heat wave.  And a public inquiry has just begun into the proposed opening of a deep coal mine in Cumbria that conflicts with the Government’s proposal to reach net carbon by 2050. 

If, like me, you have trouble remembering the difference between astronomical and meteorological seasons you are really going to struggle with what comes next!
