LCC are still waiting for the permit to operate the site being issued after an inspection by the Environment Agency. I had hoped it could be re-opened late February but looks like being early - not late March!

The parish council’s monthly public meeting on 2 February was held in the Studio at the Kibworth Grammar School Hall. Cllr. Feltham reported the post required for mounting the vehicle-activated sign on Albert Street is due to be installed at the end of March. He and the clerk are meeting with the Community Speed Watch team on 3 February for them to carry out a risk assessment of the three chosen locations ready for the volunteers to measure speeds over two weeks starting on 22 April.

The site was handed back to LCC on 9 January 2023. There are still some finishing touches to be concluded by the contractor. In the interim, LCC will continue preparing the site in readiness for opening. This is now expected to be mid to late February. An exact date cannot be given at this time. LCC are still awaiting the permit to operate the site being issued after an inspection by the Environment Agency.

Originally from North Wales and then moving around in 3- or 4-year stints, I arrived with my family in Kibworth 21 years ago and have accidentally put down deep roots. Retired now, I am involved both as a player and director at Kibworth Golf Club. I also do some volunteer driving for VASL, like to parkrun weekly and dog-walk daily.
