The site was handed back to LCC on 9 January 2023. There are still some finishing touches to be concluded by the contractor. In the interim, LCC will continue preparing the site in readiness for opening. This is now expected to be mid to late February. An exact date cannot be given at this time. LCC are still awaiting the permit to operate the site being issued after an inspection by the Environment Agency.

Originally from North Wales and then moving around in 3- or 4-year stints, I arrived with my family in Kibworth 21 years ago and have accidentally put down deep roots. Retired now, I am involved both as a player and director at Kibworth Golf Club. I also do some volunteer driving for VASL, like to parkrun weekly and dog-walk daily.

I have lived in Kibworth for eight years with my wife Nicola and been a parish councillor for the last two. We have two young boys, one in Year 1 and one due to start in 18 months, and I feel extremely lucky to be able to bring them up here.

The last monthly public meeting of 2022 was held on 1 December in the Studio at Kibworth Grammar School Hall. Cllr. Feltham reported that HDC Planning Enforcement Team were making investigations into the possible use of 2 Harborough Road for a commercial business lacking relevant planning permission.
