It is with great sadness that I am writing to report the recent death of Mrs Beryl Lloyd.  She was the wife of the late John Lloyd and mother to the three of us (Peter, Andrew and the late David). She had lived in Kibworth Harcourt for over 60 years and was one of the founders of the tennis club. She also taught at the village primary school for many years and was well known around the village.  She always loved Kibworth and passed away with many happy memories.

A number of  Kibworth & District Chronicle readers may know of Joan and John Boyall, the couple who enjoyed daily morning walks in and around Kibworth. They had many local casual acquaintances with whom they chatted and laughed.

Readers have expressed sadness and some surprise by the short item announcing the funeral service for Roger 'The Post' Holt in our April edition. The Chronicle is pleased to print the following extracts from the eulogy as approved by his family.

A man with much creative skill

It is with sadness we inform readers of the sudden death of Tur Langton’s former resident Gary John Edward Chamberlain aged 67.

Older volunteers at the monthly lay-up of Kibworth and District Chronicle will be saddened to learn of the untimely death of Stuart Bennett (aged 73). As caretaker of Kibworth Village Hall, Stuart would many years ago, wake up early on a Sunday morning and singlehandedly set up the hall with all the tables and chairs ready for our monthly lay up.

Barbara’s family are saddened to announce she passed away on 4 September at East Surrey Hospital.
