News from Smeeton Westerby - Mar '25

We are delighted to announce that our CoCo mornings have started up again. Held on the third Wednesday of the month between 10.30am and 12.00pm. It was really lovely to see so many people joining us. As the weather improves and we can once again use our beautiful little garden, I am sure we will see many more people from the surrounding villages joining us, either as they take a ‘doggy walking’ stop or just decide to pop in for free refreshments!

One of the most rewarding pastimes is a short amble around a nearby local village. Looking at the various architectural buildings and admiring peoples’ front gardens etc. Luckily for us Harborough have a number of leaflets available which will guide one to see unusual or interesting features that the passing viewer might not notice straightaway.

Rotary School Band concert March 2025

Kibworth & Fleckney Rotary are hosting a fundraising event featuring two musical groups, the Leicester Grammar School Big Band and Youth Brass 2000 in a concert in St Nicholas Hall, Leicester Grammar School, London Road, Great Glen, LE8 9FL on Friday 21 March at 7pm. Tickets are priced at £12 each and are available from TicketSource.

Nevill Holt Festival

15th February 2025 | What's On

This year’s Nevill Holt Festival (Friday 30 May - Sunday 22 June) includes ‘Richard E Grant’, ‘An audience with Prue Leith DBE’ and a series of musical concerts entitled ‘Harlem Nights: In the Spirit of Swing,’ as well as’Pam Ayres’ and comedy from ‘Underbelly’s Comedy Allstars’. Also the festival will see the return of some favourites from 2024; ‘Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra’, ‘Aggers & Tuffers: Part 2’ and ‘Jason Byrne.’
Opera North are co-producing ‘Cosi fan tutte’ which promises to whisk you away to the 18th century with dazzling disguises, seductive schemes and lavish costumes.
