I’m not going to tell you about Leicester Hockey Club, (based at Great Glen). I am leaving that to some of the parents of our junior players to tell you their thoughts on their children’s experience at the club.
Have you ever thought of giving table tennis a go? Here at the Fleckney Spinners we take absolute beginners, adults and children. Our latest addition is 8-year old Seb Kaubi, who is as keen as mustard to get going on his TT journey.
The Leicester and Leicestershire Photographic Society 2025 annual exhibition will be held at Christchurch Clarendon Park Road, Leicester LE2 3AH. The exhibition will run from Friday evening 9 May until Saturday afternoon 10 May. It will include print and projected image sections. There are separate sections for members’ and non-members’ entries. Each have sections for colour prints and projected images, monochrome prints and projected images, and nature prints and projected images. In addition there are the sport prints and projected images. The print and projected sections are sponsored by the Great Central Railway Ltd.
The Leicester & District Ramblers have announced two Coach Rambles in the near future. The Coach Rambles were a very popular item on their agenda prior to the Covid 19 global pandemic.
By the time the Kibworth and DistrictChronicle is published the band will have competed in the main contest of the year which this year has returned to Bedworth.
0.75 acres with cowslips and spring bulbs and many unusual plants and shrubs. There will be hellebores in flower, camellia, and a striking fallen laburnum which lies at a 45-degree angle. The pond will have iris and king buttercups in flower providing lots of spring colour. A wide range of refreshments will be on sale.
At our last meeting, Illston on the Hill WI had something to get the little grey cells working: ‘Help with Technology’. Our speaker was Mitchell Burnell from Billesdon. This was a fascinating talk. And it was horrifying to note how little we knew about the difference with iPhones and Android! As well as why everything is sent up to the ‘cloud’. As this was mentioned, we all looked up to the sky! Did we know our Apple or Google account details – do you? It was a revelation to find that WhatsApp is part of a social media platform.
