Easter is one of the most important and widely-celebrated holidays in the Christian faith. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Illston on the Hill WI invited Yuki Dixon to talk about and demonstrate Japanese food. What a very charming lady! Moved from Tokyo to USA, back to Tokyo, met her Welsh husband and moved to England some nineteen years ago. Although she has lots of academic qualifications, her great love is Japanese food.

Spring is in the air, and we have an exciting lineup of events at the golf club. Whether you enjoy a relaxing Sunday lunch, testing your knowledge at a quiz night, or indulging in a delightful afternoon tea, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Incidentally afternoon teas will be served from Tuesday 6 May – Saturday 10 May to celebrate VE Day/week. Vouchers should be purchased from the club in advance. The 2025 season is here, and we’ve got some huge fixtures and events lined up!

The Kibworth easy riders were formed 5 years ago during the Covid times with the aim of bringing cycling enthusiasts together to share their love of cycling. Over the years we have organised rides covering much of the UK and Europe. 

Several members of the twice-monthly, Monday afternoon, Family History Workshop which gathers informally in Kibworth Community Library have been actively contemplating relaunching the currently dormant Kibworth History Society. (www.kibworth.org)

We would like to begin by again extending a huge thank you to everyone who donated preloved books for the World Book Day event. It was a massive success and the children adored selecting a book to keep. We look forward to repeating this next year as it was so wonderful.

During the past few weeks Kibworth and Fleckney Rotary Club have been running competitions at the local schools. These were for Young Writer, Young Artist and Young Chef.

In the February edition of the Kibworth & District Chronicle we outlined what your local Rotary Club had achieved during over 30 years.

“Oils feel precious,” was the response when artist Lesley Brooks was asked why some artists are wary of painting in oils during the latest meeting of the Kibworth Art Lovers. She then went on to demonstrate her own technique for mastering and enjoying this medium.
