During the past few weeks Kibworth and Fleckney Rotary Club have been running competitions at the local schools. These were for Young Writer, Young Artist and Young Chef.

In the February edition of the Kibworth & District Chronicle we outlined what your local Rotary Club had achieved during over 30 years.

Three proposals for the re-organisation of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland were submitted to the government minister on 21 March 2025. These will need working up in detail, with full public consultation, for final proposals due in late November 2025.

In March we had our AGM which was well attended. Martyn Wyburn reported on the current state of the Community Hub. The completion of the new library extension being the highlight of the year. There were no new candidates to join the Trustees. Martyn was re-elected as chair, with Lynn Williams voted in as vice-chair, Mandi Bland as treasurer. Andrew Dawes and Janet Dowling were also re-elected as trustees. Unfortunately, one position that has not been filled is that of secretary. If anyone would like to put themselves forward, we would be pleased to look at co-opting you. The duties are not particularly onerous. Now when I say the words “Here we again itself it is usually because I feel dismayed and my spirits have dropped. What causes these emotions? The very popular garden at Westbrooke House at Little Bowden, Market Harborough, LE16 8AX opens twice in April and May.

The monthly parish council meeting was held on 4 March at 7pm in the Studio at the Kibworth Community Hub.

The Leicester & District Ramblers have announced two Coach Rambles in the near future. The Coach Rambles were a very popular item on their agenda prior to the Covid 19 global pandemic.

The Leicester and Leicestershire Photographic Society 2025 annual exhibition will be held at Christchurch Clarendon Park Road, Leicester LE2 3AH. The exhibition will run from Friday evening 9 May until Saturday afternoon 10 May. It will include print and projected image sections. There are separate sections for members’ and non-members’ entries. Each have sections for colour prints and projected images, monochrome prints and projected images, and nature prints and projected images. In addition there are the sport prints and projected images. The print and projected sections are sponsored by the Great Central Railway Ltd.
